Dental Implants

One of the most common questions we hear at our dental office is, “What is the best way to replace a missing tooth?” Thanks to advances in dental technology, many options are available, and we know that this is an important decision.

In our experience, dental implants are usually the best option for replacing missing teeth. This is because dental implants don’t just fill in the spaces left by missing teeth in the way that bridges and dentures do; they are a permanent solution that actually protects the bone beneath your gums and prevents it from deterioration.

Dentists have been replacing missing teeth with dental implants for several decades now, and Dr. Adrian has used dental implants with great success in patients of all ages. When choosing a dentist to place and restore your dental implants, it’s important to choose one with training and experience.

Dental Implant Procedure

When you call our office, we’ll schedule you for a consultation appointment with Dr. Adrian. He’ll examine your teeth and take digital images to look at the condition of the bone in your jaw. After discussing your goals with you, he’ll make a recommendation as to whether dental implants are the best option for you. Even if you have already experienced some deterioration of your bone, you may still be a candidate thanks to new procedures like bone grafts.

The implant itself is placed during a simple surgery. A dental CT scan may be used to make the procedure easier and improve the precision and comfort of the process. Multiple sedation options are available, and we are happy to discuss these with you. Following the surgery, we’ll allow time for the surgical site to heal and for the implant to integrate into your jaw, a process known as osseointegration.

Once the site is healed and the implant is integrated, we’ll restore the implant by attaching a custom-made crown. This is the part of the implant that everyone sees, and it is designed to look just like one of your own natural teeth. In fact, once the crown is placed and the implant is fully restored, people will be unable to tell the difference – all they’ll see is an attractive and complete smile.
